This month, we’re encouraging ecommerce business owners to stay dialed into their numbers…

Last month in our monthly ‘Marketing To Dos’ series we encouraged you to use January to reflect on what worked and what didn’t in 2021. If you missed that post, or you’re reading this one at another time of the year, you can still go back to this exercise. There is always value in reflecting on what’s working versus what’s not, and tweaking your strategy to get the best results.

This month, we’re encouraging ecommerce business owners to stay dialed into their numbers – specifically Checkouts Initiated and inside our FREE Ultimate Business Marketing Handbook we’ve given you three tactics that can improve your Checkouts Initiated metric and your revenue. Download your copy of the handbook to start implementing these tactics during February.

Here’s some of our favourites:

  • 5 February – #worldnutelladay
  • 6 February – Waitangi Day (the 7th is the Waitangi Day Holiday)
  • 12 February – Chinese New Year Begins #yearofthetiger
  • 16 February – Mardi Gras
  • 22 February – #nationalmargheritaday

And of course, the big promotion date that almost every ecommerce business can take advantage of in February is… Valentine’s Day on 14 February.

Valentine’s Day Marketing Ideas for 2022

  • Create an appreciation email campaign for your customers. Simply sending a ‘thank you’ email with a discount code, free shipping, or gift with purchase is a great way to show your customers what they mean to you, whilst giving them an incentive to go shopping in your store.
  • Valentine’s Day is the perfect day to shower your Ecommerce Whales with extra attention. Your whales are those customers who buy from you time and again and their loyalty deserves to be rewarded. You’ll find some clever ideas for showing your whales love in this blog post.
  • Create a campaign leading up to Valentine’s Day with a sequence of emails designed to  encourage your customers to shop for VD gifts with you. Create a mood of celebration within your emails by using ‘loved up’ images, gif’s and Valentine’s Day colours (pink, red and white). You should carry this promotion ‘theme’ through to your social media too.
